This is disheartning. I thought i finally found some organic thread from Coats and Clark. It says 100% Organic cotton sewing thread. It sews very nicely through my machine and lies well on the fabric. I have not seen it go through the wash yet though. Does this mean I was missled? Or have things changed since this was written?

my mom sent me a spool of that same coats and clark, not sure where she bought it, but i agree, it works fine. no breaking yet! you can also buy organic sewing thread from near sea naturals (nearseanaturals.com) , in black, white and natural color. i’ve used their thread on both a sewing machine and serger and had great results. as mentioned, neither of these are “shiny” thread, because like you described, the lubrication process has to be left out to keep it organic, but it does not cause any problems as far as i am concerned.

Thank you! He seems to be mostly himself again. I am just so very thankful that we had no troubles on the flight. Yay!! But I spent all day yesterday with it and hope that noone else suffers though this bug. We are supposed to be on vacation!
